AOB’s Community Impact: Smashing Targets and Making a Difference!

Over the recent years, here at Ashton Old Baths we have been working hard to enhance our social values, and we are thrilled to share our incredible achievements with you!

Here’s what we’ve been up to:

⭐ Inviting local schools, colleges, and the general public for tours around our historic building: We’ve welcomed 14 schools and colleges, giving approximately 230 students a chance to learn about the history, regeneration, and commercial aspects of our Grade II listed business centre. Each visit includes a tour of the building, a look at the architecture, and a detailed history session, followed by a Q&A.

⭐ Providing work experience placements for young students: We’ve hosted work experience posts for 5 students over 10 weeks. Their tasks included admin and reception duties, greeting residents and guests, accepting post and deliveries, setting up for events and conferences, basic building checks, and learning about compliance policies and procedures.

⭐ Collecting donations for local charities: Our residents have raised nearly £1,000 in charity donations, contributing Easter eggs and Christmas gifts for children in the local area, food and hygiene products for individuals in need, as well as supporting the British Heart Foundation and MacMillan.

⭐ Raising awareness for the well-being of our residents: We’ve provided over 100 hours of free expert business advice and training to more than 85 residents, ensuring they have the support they need to thrive.

All these efforts have been measured by a third party, and we are absolutely delighted to announce that we have smashed our target, achieving an incredible 175%!

A huge thank you to our amazing team here at AOB, our residents, and the organisations that have helped us achieve this fantastic result! This milestone covers the period from February 2021 to February 2024.

Since opening in 2017, AOB has consistently employed local people, contributing to the community’s growth and development. We’ve also arranged over 15 free tours for members of the public and local care homes, showcasing our commitment to community engagement.
